Surging Sparks (expansion code sv8) released November 8, 2024 in English as a 252-card main expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series. Its Japanese-side contents derive from two paired enhanced expansion packs: Super Electric Breaker (超電ブレイカー) and Paradise Dragona (sv7a, released September 13, 2024). Together the two Japanese packs form the source pool for the larger English release (Bulbapedia accessed 2026-05-09).
The set continues the Stellar Tera Pokemon ex concept introduced in prior SV-era expansions and uses The Indigo Disk DLC setting as its running thematic backdrop. Mechanically, Surging Sparks contains eight ACE SPEC cards, nine Stellar Tera Pokemon ex, nine standard Pokemon ex, and 23 illustration rares.
